The actual value-added of creating a credentialing or certification system for front line and managerial workforce development staff is something that WPTI has been exploring with practitioners, workforce development executive, national training experts, government, and other intermediaries. At present, WPTI is exploring the possibility of modifying a current generalized career counseling credential called the Career Development Facilitator (CDF) credential (conferred through the Center for Credentialing and Education - see: http://www.cce-global.org) for applicability among New York City practitioners, specifically job developers, job/career coaches, employment specialists, and retention counselors. WPTI is exploring the possibility of partnering with the New York State Department of Labor concerning the creation of a statewide credential.
