National Fund for Workforce Solutions Annual Conference Draws More than 400 Workforce Leaders and Business Partners

The National Fund for Workforce Solutions brought together more than 400 workforce and business leaders from across the country for its annual conference on June 15-16 in Philadelphia, PA. The two-day convening featured plenary and breakout sessions on an array of topics, including: workforce-relevant policy developments; sector-specific best practices in training, recruitment, employment retention, and advancement; the impact of integrating workforce development with financial capability; human centered design and return on investment methodology; and strategies to align workforce and economic development. Business leaders actively engaged in the conference, contributing on panel discussions and participating in workshop sessions.

Field Building Hub Advisor Steven Dawson moderated a panel at the annual National Fund for Workforce Solutions conference in Philadelphia, PA on hiring and keeping skilled employees in a tightening labor market. The New York City Workforce Funders is among the first funding collaboratives to join the National Fund—which was created in 2007—joining 32 other funding collaboratives from 29 states. Foundation representatives and leaders from multiple NYC organizations attended the conference this year. Field Building Hub Advisor, Steven Dawson, hosted a plenary session focused on hiring and retaining skilled employees in a tightening labor market. The conference provided a valuable forum for sharing the work of the Field Building Hub and learning about best practices and innovative strategies taking place in other locations.
