WPTI to Host Two Free Virtual Workshop Series on Digital Skills Using Resources from Grow with Google

WPTI is partnering with Grow with Google to help our community learn digital skills and support digital skill building of job seekers. To introduce workforce development organizations to Grow with Google, we will be hosting a session at 9AM on Thursday, January 6th to provide information on becoming a Grow with Google partner. Following this session, we will kick off our first series, Train-the-Trainer Series for Workforce Development Practitioners. These workshops may be taken as stand alone, or as part of the series; for those who complete all three training sessions in the series will receive a Certificate of Training from WPTI and Grow with Google.

Practitioners will learn strategies on assisting job seekers in managing work and life tasks more effectively using Google tools. Whether your job seeker wants to build a budget, create a meeting agenda or organize priorities, these best practices will boost their productivity.

At the virtual workshop, Digital Skills for Everyday Tasks, practitioners will learn the following:

  • Use templates in Google Sheets to help job seekers build a personalized to-do list
  • Use templates in Google Docs to help job seekers create a meeting agenda

Improve Your Resume with Practical Strategies
February 23, 2022- 10:00-11:00AM EST

Practitioners will learn strategies on assisting job seekers read a resume from the perspective of a hiring manager, communicate their strengths effectively and build a resume that stands out.

At the virtual workshop, Improve Your Resume with Practical Strategies, practitioners will learn the following:

  • Compare different resume styles
  • Implement four strategies to improve job seekers’ resumes
  • Make your job seekers’ resume more attractive to hiring managers

Power Your Job Search with Google Tools
March 23, 2022 - 10:00-11:00AM

Practitioners will learn strategies on assisting job seekers discover new job opportunities using Google Search, and how to organize and enhance their job search experience using Google Workspace tools.

At the virtual workshop, Power Your Job Search with Google Tools, practitioners will learn the following strategies:

  • Discovering career opportunities using Job Search on Google
  • Using Google Sheets to track the progress of job applications
  • Creating a resume using Google Docs
