Immigrants’ Rights in the World of Work in partnership with Manhattan Legal Services (Open to the public)

In this online training, participants will gain a better understanding of both the history of immigration law, current law, and how both affect the rights, opportunities and potential pitfalls for immigrant jobseekers and workers. A general overview of immigration law and history will be followed by an exploration of the rights of immigrants in the workplace. Topics covered include what is a work permit, how to get one, rights for those working legally and not legally, deportation concerns, and rights related to both authorized and unauthorized workers.
