On February 1, the New York City Employment and Training Coalition (NYCETC) hosted a Coalition Café, featuring research from the Monitoring the Minimum Wage brief series produced as a collaboration between the Workforce Professionals Training Institute’s (WPTI) Field Building Hub and the New School’s Center for New York City Affairs.

On December 5, Kasia Tazearslan, Workforce Field Building Hub Associate, and Sandy DeShong, Workforce Field Building Hub Consultant, presented at Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation’s Navigating the Minimum Wage workshop.
The New York City Workforce Funders commissioned the Field Building Hub to conduct a strategic review of New York City workforce initiatives since 2014, both public and philanthropic. Using recent frameworks as a reference point—including the 2013 Re-envisioning the New York City Workforce System and the 2014 Career Pathways: One City Working Together reports - the resulting Workforce Agenda for New York City report provides the workforce field and its funders a set of pragmatic recommendations for effecting measurable system-level improvements over the next four to five years.
The Field Building Hub initiatives and expertise have been featured in multiple forums this fall: NYATEP Fall Conference in Syracuse, NY, Sector Convening on the Supply of and Demand for Middle Skill Jobs in Healthcare presented at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, and ….

Jenny Pierre joins WPTI as the Director of Consulting
Jennifer will manage several key projects and initiatives focused on improving the effectiveness of programs and organizations dedicated to helping jobseekers prepare for and secure jobs that pay family sustaining wages.
WPTI’s Board of Directors elected two new members last month. These new members bring unique and accomplished backgrounds and skill sets that will help us grow and thrive in the ever changing workforce landscape.
