Our New, Virtual Reality: Managing Remote Teams (Online)

April 14, 2020, Monday

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Program Description

This is part of a series for workforce development professionals who are transitioning to a remote-work environment.

As you transition to managing teams remotely, how do you keep connected with your teams when you are not in the same space? Zoom can be a great tool for communicating with teams, building collaboration, and checking-in with your staff. Join WPTI for an interactive workshop to discuss how to build a culture that engages your team in a virtual world.

Upon completion of this workshop, managers will be able to:

  • Set-up virtual staff meetings to check-in and build collaboration;
  • Schedule one-on-one check-in to provide support and guidance to individual staff members; and
  • Use Zoom for team-building activities for staff.

If you are staff for a DYCD Advance & Earn program, please do not register for this training. Additional trainings are being planned specifically for you.

Registration closes on Monday, Friday, April 10, 2020, at 5:00 pm. If this training is full, you will be placed on a waitlist.

This training requires:

  1. High-speed Internet access.
  2. Access to a desktop or laptop computer.
  3. A working microphone on your computer or headset.

A working video camera on your desktop or laptop computer is strongly encouraged. Particpants also are encouraged to download the Zoom software onto their laptop or desktop computer in advance of the training. We’re sorry but audio-only participation cannot be permitted.

For more information about this training, please contact Sabeen Pirani, Director of Training, at spirani@wpti.org.
