Description

The COVID-19 pandemic is unprecedented in its nature. It brings unforeseen disruptions and challenges to the way we operate and do business. However, this public health crisis presents opportunities to shift, change the way we do things, and innovate. As we continue to deal with the effects of the pandemic, what can we do to remain strong, resilient and better positioned to take care of our employees and meet the needs of our workforce clients and business customers? Looking for tools to help your organization cope with and weather the uncertainties of COVID-19? Need an opportunity to troubleshoot challenges and solutions with your colleagues? Want to share promising practices?

Public Works Partners and the Workforce Professionals Training Institute (WPTI) are hosting an online convening of workforce development leaders, directors, and senior staff to discuss and share strategies for moving through this crisis, supporting your staff and participants and preparing your organization for the post-COVID-19 environment. This 90-minute facilitated discussion will address strategic, operational and tactical questions leaders have, brainstorm solutions and share lessons learned.

More specifically, the discussion will center on the following three questions:

  1. What are the strategic management questions that leaders in the workforce development sector should be engaging with?
  2. How are organizations in the workforce development sector adapting to the new financial/operational realities and constraints?
  3. How can scenario planning and other tools help organizations become more resilient now and in the future?

Public Works CEO Celeste Frye and WPTI Executive Director Sharon Sewell-Fairman will moderate the conversation using online tools to ensure a dynamic and engaging experience.
