HERE to HERE, a network in the South Bronx seeking to create, enhance, and expand multiple pathways to rewarding careers for in-school youth ages 14 to 25, convened nearly 150 leaders from the business community, high schools, post-secondary programs, city and state agencies, foundations, and community-based organizations to refine the initiative’s strategy and to develop an impact framework for measuring collective results.
Speakers—including Bob Schwartz, Senior Fellow at Jobs for the Future, and Noel Anderson Clinical Professor and Director of the Educational Leadership Program at New York University—emphasized the importance of shifting focus to career readiness integrated throughout a young person’s educational and vocational training.
HERE to HERE aims to ensure that 10,000 young people at risk of un- or underemployment access paths to family sustaining jobs by the time they are 25.
WPTI and the Field Building Hub look forward to contributing to and leveraging the networks and best practices emerging from HERE to HERE.
